Three-time US Open Cup Champions Sporting Kansas City will be coming off of a Quarterfinal win over former defending champions FC Dallas. The Earthquakes defeated struggling LA Galaxy in the Quarterfinals to get to this point.

Flamengo currently holds a huge 5-2 lead over Palestino going into this second leg. If they see it through, they will face Chapecoense in the Round of 16.
