What 2 Watch – 7/19/17

There’s a little bit more available for fans to watch today, with MLS returning from its brief hiatus, Gold Cup Quarterfinals (I’m trying my best to sell this), the International Champions Cup and other club friendlies. Here are some of the best, along with the best ways to view the matchups.

Be sure to stay tuned to our Twitter (@wft_podcast) for live commentary, thoughts and analysis on tons of games throughout the season.

7:20 AM – International Champions Cup China – Bayern Munich vs Arsenal – Shanghai Stadium, Shanghai

Following Milan and Dortmund’s opening encounter, Munich and Arsenal kick off their ICC China campaigns in Shanghai. New signings James Rodriguez and Alexandre Lacazette could feature in this, let’s be realistic, glorified friendly. This will be Arsenal’s only game in this year’s ICC China.

8:00 PM – International Champions Cup USA – Roma vs PSG – Comerica Park, Detroit, Michigan

The stateside International Champions Cup kicks off in Detroit with two teams with something to prove. Following their rather calamitous season in Ligue 1, PSG will be looking to prove to the likes of Verratti and, potentially, Neymar that they are still a force to be reckoned with. Roma will be looking to show people that it won’t come down to Juventus running away or Milan rising from the ashes to contend for the scudetto this season.

9:00 PM – CONCACAF Gold Cup Quarterfinal – USA vs El Salvador – Lincoln Financial Field, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Listen, I know it’s the Gold Cup. Still, the United States has shown its intent for the knockout stages to secure 1/2 of CONCACAF’s 2021 Confederations Cup berth (if there even is one).
